Narrazioni del femminismo italiano. Continuità e rotture tra Oriana Fallaci e Michela Murgia.

This thesis aims to investigate the evolution of feminist discourse in Italy through a comparative analysis of the works and thought of Oriana Fallaci and Michela Murgia, two central figures in the contemporary cultural landscape who share a focus on the condition of women but are divided by opposing perspectives and visions. After a brief historical reconstruction of the main stages of feminism, with particular attention to the Italian context, the research focuses on a comparison between the two authors, examining their positions on topics such as gender inequality, fashion, motherhood, reproductive issues, religion, political activism, language and gender stereotypes. The aim is to highlight the convergences and divergences that emerge from their journalistic, literary and nonfiction works, emphasising how both have contributed, albeit in different and sometimes antithetical ways, to shaping the feminist and cultural debate in Italy. The thesis concludes with an educational proposal for secondary schools, with the aim of introducing the voices of female authors into school curricula, stimulating critical reflection on the pervasiveness of gender stereotypes, and raising students’ awareness of gender inequality in contemporary society. The ultimate goal of this thesis is to offer a useful tool not only for promoting the contribution of women to culture, but also for raising awareness among the younger generations about issues that are now more urgent than ever.

La presente tesi si propone di indagare l’evoluzione del discorso femminista in Italia attraverso un’analisi comparata delle opere e del pensiero di Oriana Fallaci e Michela Murgia, due figure centrali del panorama culturale contemporaneo e accomunate dall’attenzione verso la condizione femminile, ma divise da prospettive e visioni opposte. Dopo una breve ricostruzione storica delle principali tappe del femminismo, con particolare attenzione al contesto italiano, la ricerca si concentra sul confronto tra le due autrici, esaminando le loro posizioni rispetto a temi quali la disparità di genere, la moda, la maternità, le questioni riproduttive, la religione, l’attivismo politico, il linguaggio e gli stereotipi di genere. L’obiettivo è quello di mettere in luce le convergenze e le divergenze che emergono dalle loro opere giornalistiche, letterarie e saggistiche, evidenziando come entrambe abbiano contribuito, seppur in modi differenti e talvolta antitetici, a plasmare il dibattito femminista e culturale in Italia. La tesi si conclude con una proposta didattica rivolta alle scuole superiori, finalizzata a introdurre la voce delle autrici donne nei programmi scolastici, a stimolare una riflessione critica sulla pervasività degli stereotipi di genere, così come rendere gli studenti consapevoli della disparità di genere nella società contemporanea. Il fine ultimo di questa tesi è quello di offrire uno strumento utile non solo alla valorizzazione del contributo femminile nella cultura, ma anche alla sensibilizzazione delle nuove generazioni rispetto a tematiche che si rivelano, oggi più che mai, urgenti.
