Nowadays, the phenomenon of dark tourism is always more popular and always more controversial. This work is focused on one of the most sensitive types of dark tourism, hot war tourism. It is a widely spread opinion that visiting places that are going through difficulties and sufferings is not ethical and is an act of voyeurism. This research appeals that it could be not only ethical but very helpful for the local communities. In order to do so, this phenomenon must be studied, and wise marketing strategies must be applied. When properly regulated, war tourism can contribute to resilience, remembrance, and sustainable growth in local communities. War tourism provides possibilities for people who sympathize with locals in places torn by war, to engage and demonstrate empathy. It helps sensibilize the war going elsewhere in visitors’ societies. And last, but not least, inbound tourism is one of the most suffering economic activities in places affected by war. Countries in war always undergoes severe economic crisis, meaning they must make maximum effort in rebuilding suffering sectors in order to mitigate social and economic crisis.
