The vast and intricate issue of antisemitism is gaining increasing prominence on the international stage, both from legal and socio-political perspectives. Anti-Judaic hatred manages to infiltrate every social context, constantly finding new forms and methods to evade clear and definitive regulation. The aim of this dissertation is to investigate the roots of this reprehensible form of hatred, aiming to understand its contemporary manifestations and significance in the realm of international relations, as a phenomenon that transcends borders and epochs. By starting from a historical framework, this analysis seeks to examine how antisemitism, much like society itself, has evolved over time—rooted in superstitions and unfounded accusations—to adapt to changing circumstances. The Holocaust stands as a pivotal moment in the history of anti-Judaic hatred and a central focus of this thesis. However, the array of anti-Jewish policies implemented by Nazi-fascist regimes is considered here not as a starting point, but rather as the culmination of numerous behaviours and events that had already been incited and enacted against Jewish communities throughout history. In an increasingly globalized and standardized world order, shaped by international law, international relations, and the actions of international organizations, it is essential to seek an effective response to antisemitism beyond the confines of individual nations. This necessitates the profound commitment of global actors capable of addressing this form of violence—whether implicit or explicit—that has, for millennia, been a defining challenge in the life of the Jewish people.

Abstract
This necessitates the profound commitment of global actors capable of addressing this form of violence—whether implicit or explicit—that has, for millennia, been a defining challenge in the life of the Jewish people.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
