The need for aggregation processes by small businesses has been discussed for years in Italy. Moreover, the small size of Italian companies, if from one side has several advantages in terms of flexibility and adaptability to changing markets, on the other it puts undoubted difficulties in terms of ability to compete in the globalized market, where the availability of qualified resources is often a critical success factor. One instrument for Smes survive in the market is through the creation of strategic networks. Contratto di Rete is a new company co-operation mode; through this contract in fact our SMEs should finally reach the critical mass necessary to compete globally and to increase their capacity for innovation and competitiveness without giving up their entrepreneurial autonomy.
