This thesis aims to reconstruct the diet of the ancient people settled in Equilus (Jesolo, Italy) between the late antiquity and the middle ages. In this work is analyzed the signature of stable isotopes (carbon and nitrogen) in samples of bones and teeths collected during the excavation carried out in 2022 at Monastery of San Mauro. The method performed consists in the extraction of collagen from the samples and its analysis in terms of 13C and 15N throush Isotopic Ration Mass Spectrometry (IRMS). It is expected to establish if the dietary of the ancient population was mainly based on sea foods or terrestrial foods, with significant implications for the trading with the hinterland.
