The thesis will be focused on prosocial behaviour and it will be developed in three chapters. In the first chapter the literature and the main models used for studying this phenomenon will be analysed; then the second chapter will be devoted to the examination of the phenomenon of volunteering. The paper will end with an empirical analysis of data collected by submitting a questionnaire to volunteers operating in different sectors.
