The thesis aims to analyse the relationship between wage and motherhood in the Italian labour market using cross-sectional data from the European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC). Following an introduction on the child penalty, we will study the effects of motherhood on wages with a focus on the cultural and creative labour market, where atypical work patterns are frequent.
