This master thesis focuses on the partnerships between public and private sector as social assets providers. After defined the main characteristics and elements that concern this kind of partnership, it will be given an overview of the regulatory system of PPP in Italy. Finally, this thesis aims to assess the performance of these partnerships in the Italian highway sector, analyzing cases of highways realised through PPP contracts.
