This thesis examines the role of holding companies as instruments of governance, investment, and value creation within luxury industry groups, with a particular focus on LVMH, Kering, and Prada. After outlining the theoretical framework relating to holding companies, integration strategies, risk management, and capital allocation, the study explores the distinctive features of the organizational model adopted by the leading luxury fashion conglomerates. The analysis highlights how these groups combine centralized financial decision-making with the creative autonomy of individual maisons, pursuing growth strategies based on selective acquisitions, organic expansion, brand portfolio management, and the exploitation of both operational and financial synergies. The research further focuses on the economic and financial performance of the three holding companies during the period 2023-2025, which was characterized by a slowdown in global demand for luxury goods, weakness in the Chinese market, and increasing macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty. Through an examination of profitability, financial structure, investment policies, and stock market performance, the study shows that the ability to withstand the sector's downturn depends primarily on asset quality, brand strength, and the effectiveness of capital allocation strategies. The findings suggest that the resilience of holding companies cannot be explained solely by financial solidity, but rather by their capacity to combine innovation, financial discipline, brand desirability, and a long-term strategic vision, thereby confirming the central role of holding structures in creating sustainable value within the luxury industry.
