EFL Teachers’ Attitudes Towards the Implementation of Edutainment technologies in On-site Teaching in Kazakhstan

In recent years, the issue of introducing new technologies into educational institutions has been increasingly raised in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This includes the use of modern technological means, such as Learning Management Systems and digital learning platforms, as well as new approaches, forms, and methods of teaching. One of these approaches is edutainment, a combination of education and entertainment. This approach involves gamification, interactive technologies, and entertainment elements in teaching, with the result that the learning process is more interesting, exciting, and effective. The purpose of this research is to study EFL teachers’ attitudes towards the implementation of edutainment technologies in on-site teaching in Kazakhstan. Special attention is paid to identifying the factors that influence teachers’ attitudes and acceptance of edutainment technology, as well as the impact of edutainment technology on their work. To achieve the purpose of the study, we will provide a description and history of edutainment technology and consider its types. In light of the changes in Kazakhstan educational system, the thesis aims to explore EFL teachers’ attitudes by collecting quantitative and qualitative data using a questionnaire administered to EFL teachers at secondary schools in Kazakhstan. The data will be analyzed and discussed.
