The transition from the rigid television schedule to the algorithmic fluidity of TikTok represents more than a technological shift; it marks a linguistic revolution in cultural communication. The thesis explores the BookTok phenomenon to understand how traditional televisual mediation, once defined by institutional authority, is being reclaimed and transformed by digital «prosumers». By adopting a multidisciplinary approach that combines audiovisual analysis with specific case studies of Italian creators, the research maps the evolution of authenticity in a post-televisual era. Here, the traditional role of the host is replaced by the spontaneity of the creator and the emotional resonance of affective publics. The core of this study lies in its experimental project: an immersive storytelling format designed to test the platform’s potential for high-culture dissemination. By reintroducing literary classics through the 'Point of View' (POV) narrative, the project translates the psychological depth of literature into the native visual codes of TikTok. This bridge between theory and creative practice evaluates whether short-form, performative storytelling can successfully sustain cultural complexity beyond mere entertainment. Ultimately, the work positions BookTok as the contemporary evolution of participatory cultural television, where reading is no longer a private act but a collective, performative experience.

Abstract
Ultimately, the work positions BookTok as the contemporary evolution of participatory cultural television, where reading is no longer a private act but a collective, performative experience.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
