Umorismo e LIS: Analisi dei markers linguistici e culturali nella progettazione del frame umoristico

Along with other studies in this field, this thesis investigates linguistic and cultural markers inherent in Italian Sign Language within a humorous context. The first chapter outlines the history of the language and then explains its grammatical features and linguistic characteristics. Subsequently, the thesis provides an in-depth description of the main theories of humour, together with theoretical perspectives on Deaf humour. The fourth and fifth chapters focus on data collection and analysis: the corpus consists of video materials in which LIS is used, and, with the support of ELAN, the data are systematically examined. The final chapters comment on and discuss the data.

Insieme ad altri studi in questo ambito, la presente tesi indaga i markers linguistici e culturali inerenti alla Lingua dei Segni Italiana all’interno di un contesto umoristico. Il primo capitolo ripercorre la storia della lingua e ne illustra successivamente le caratteristiche grammaticali e linguistiche. In seguito, la tesi propone una descrizione approfondita delle principali teorie dell’umorismo, insieme alle prospettive teoriche relative all’umorismo Sordo. Il quarto e il quinto capitolo sono dedicati alla raccolta e all’analisi dei dati: il corpus è costituito da materiali video in cui viene utilizzata la LIS e, con il supporto del software ELAN, i dati vengono analizzati in modo sistematico. Infine si presentano e discutono i risultati emersi. La tesi vuole contribuire in modo strutturato ad una tematica finora poco considerata nel pieno delle sue potenzialità: lo humour, in particolare da e per i Sordi come mezzo per studiare la lingua, conoscere in profondità la cultura e poterne apprezzare al meglio le innumerevoli sfaccettature.
