The thesis analyzes the theoretical conflicts and possibilities for dialogue between the different forms of contemporary aesthetic naturalism, against the backdrop of the distinction between scientific-reductionist naturalized perspectives and non-reductionist, or liberal, naturalistic perspectives (De Caro-McArthur 2004). Neuroaesthetics is examined as an exemplary case of the reductionist orientation, through the contributions of neuroscientists Semir Zeki, Vilayanur S. Ramachandran, and Anjan Chatterjee. On the non-reductionist side, the research considers, on the one hand, the evolutionary anthropological approach represented by Ellen Dissanayake and, on the other, the enactivist perspectives developed by philosophers Shaun Gallagher and Alva Noë. The aim is to highlight the tensions and processes of interdisciplinary exchange between the disciplines and authors chosen that contribute to the definition of contemporary aesthetic naturalism. The comparison is structured around the themes of aesthetic experience, artistic behavior, and the validity of the research method. Finally, an alternative to the model of interdisciplinarity is explored, evaluating the possibility of a theoretical-systematic synthesis between the empirical approach of neuroaesthetics and the philosophical approach of enactivism in Shaun Gallagher's version, to the benefit of the former in order to overcome the controversies of its initial phase.

Abstract
Finally, an alternative to the model of interdisciplinarity is explored, evaluating the possibility of a theoretical-systematic synthesis between the empirical approach of neuroaesthetics and the philosophical approach of enactivism in Shaun Gallagher's version, to the benefit of the former in order to overcome the controversies of its initial phase.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
