Technological evolution has profoundly transformed the way we think and act, making contemporary society increasingly rapid, dynamic, and oriented toward continuous stimulation. This transformation inevitably also affects the ways in which cultural enjoyment is enjoyed: museums are often perceived as static, unengaging places devoid of innovation. The slow contemplation of a work, once considered an integral part of the aesthetic experience, is now sometimes judged a tiring or boring activity, especially by younger generations. This is where the need arises for museum institutions to question which strategies to adopt to capture public attention and make the visiting experience more engaging, participatory, and meaningful. From this perspective, the thesis analyses the role of storytelling –and in particular digital storytelling – as a tool for renewing exhibition modalities and promoting forms of active participation. The investigation focuses on those forms of digital storytelling that are particularly attractive to audiences. To highlight the potential of museum storytelling, some case studies are examined: the M9 Museum in Mestre and the Paduan exhibition “Disney. The art of telling timeless stories”. Each exhibition proposal highlights strengths and critical issues related to its ability to activate participatory and engaging processes. Starting from these premises, the presentation of an exhibition project specifically designed for a children's audience, entitled “Where Nightmares Haunt You”, conceived as an application example of the digital storytelling strategies analyzed.

Abstract
Starting from these premises, the presentation of an exhibition project specifically designed for a children's audience, entitled “Where Nightmares Haunt You”, conceived as an application example of the digital storytelling strategies analyzed.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
