Fluxus constitutes an art movement encompassing the endeavors of artists of international origin, primarily consolidated across Europe and America between the 1950s and 1960s. The practitioners of Fluxus engaged with a spectrum of themes, extending from ecology and globalization to colonization and socio-cultural critique, employing performance art, music, and the active involvement of the audience as their principal modalities. The Fluxo project, conceived between 2018 and 2021 by Luciana Galliano and subsequently developed by Davide Quadrio, Alessandro Sciarroni, and Andrea Anastasio, aimed to re-contextualize the Fluxus art movement within the contemporary era. This initiative was realized through three distinct exhibitions, staged sequentially at the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca space in Milan (2021), the Seosomun Shrine History Museum in Seoul (2022), and the Ming Contemporary Art Museum in Shanghai (2023).Fluxo is characterized by a collective authorship, drawing upon the discerning expertise of curators, artists, and musicologists who collaborated effectively despite the logistical challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. The project manifested in a series of installations, concerts, and the reenactment of seminal historical performances. This thesis undertakes an analysis of the genesis and structural framework of the Fluxo project, grounded in the historical precedent of Fluxus, referencing both bibliographic and videographic sources, in addition to interviews specifically conducted for this purpose.
