This master's thesis is conceived as a work of translation and translation analysis, aimed at making accessible in Italian a selection of Chinese academic contributions devoted to the integration of tourism, culture, and creativity, with particular reference to the context of Beijing. The study is structured into three main chapters, followed by a conclusion. Chapter 1 introduces the theoretical framework, outlining the features of cultural tourism at the global level, in China and in the capital city, with a focus on its recent evolution towards creative tourism. The latter, considered a subset of cultural tourism, is examined both in its international dimension and in its specific Chinese articulation, with particular attention to the strategic role played by Beijing. Chapter 2 presents the translation of three sections from the academic work “Study on Innovative Development Models and Strategies for the Integration of Culture and Tourism in Beijing” (《北京文化与旅游融合创新发展模式与战略研究》). The selected parts include the Introduction, which defines the research objectives and approach; Chapter 5, devoted to the development of cultural tourism products; and Chapter 7, which illustrates innovative models of integration through case studies concerning cultural complexes, performances, and creative districts in the capital. Chapter 3 provides the translation commentary, discussing translation choices, terminological challenges, and the strategies applied to the texts. The Conclusion reaffirms the relevance of translating specialised academic works—whose dissemination is often hindered by language barriers—as a means of fostering the circulation of knowledge and enriching the international debate on cultural and creative tourism in China.
