Jasmine rice (or Hom Mali) rice is one of Thailand’s valuable agriculture exports. It is one of the significant portions for the country's commodity economy, its rice has unique quality and represents a symbol of Thailand national identity. In recent years, the global market of rice has been increasingly dynamic, presenting Thai farmers with challenges such intensified international competition, fluctuating export rice prices, rising production costs, and limited technological access. These factors directly influenced Thailand's production and export strategies. This thesis examines the impact of global market dynamics on Thailand’s Jasmine rice sector and explores strategies to strengthen its competitiveness. The study employed a quantitative methodology based on primary data collected through surveys conducted with 100 Jasmine rice farmers in Northeast Thailand and the secondary data, including export statistics and information from international sources. The findings suggest that Thai Jasmine rice retains strong global demand due to its premium quality, however, structural inefficiencies in production reduce its ability to compete internationally. In addition, fluctuations in exchange rates have a direct impact on the revenues of both exporters and farmers. The conclusion targeted on the improvement in production efficiency and policy support can significantly enhance the productivity and long-term competitiveness of Thailand's Jasmine rice in the global market.
