The adoption of innovative technologies in museums is a complex phenomenon influenced by multiple factors. This master's thesis aims at exploring the main elements that determine such adoption, with the goal of understanding whether it is primarily driven by the intrinsic characteristics of the technology, the specific features of the museum, the preferences and needs of the public, the environmental context, or a combination of these factors. Specifically, the analysis will focus on how these elements contribute to shaping the decision-making process of Northern Italian museums regarding the introduction of new technological solutions. The research is structured in two main phases: the first consists of a preliminary literature review, aimed at identifying the relevant theoretical models and empirical evidence on the topic of technological adoption in museums and cultural contexts. The second phase involves a quantitative analysis of data collected through a survey administered to a sample of Italian museums, in order to validate the hypotheses formulated based on the literature. The ultimate goal is to provide a clear and updated overview of the main drivers of technological adoption in the museum sector in the Northern Italy area, with potential theoretical and practical implications for the management and future development of museums in an ever-evolving digital context.

Abstract
The ultimate goal is to provide a clear and updated overview of the main drivers of technological adoption in the museum sector in the Northern Italy area, with potential theoretical and practical implications for the management and future development of museums in an ever-evolving digital context.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
