This thesis examines the intricate relationship between food systems and innovative agribusiness startups. It begins by defining food systems and outlining the concept of sustainable food systems. The research delves into the root causes of food system challenges and explores a range of potential solutions. The thesis then shifts its focus to the lifecycle of agribusiness startups, from their inception to scaling. Particular attention is paid to the role of strategic partnerships and team composition in startup success. A case study of 14 FoodSeed-accelerated startups is presented, providing empirical insights into founder profiles and team dynamics. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how innovative enterprises can drive the transition towards more sustainable food systems.
