This thesis is an attempt to translate the central chapters of the novel Trop de soleil tue l'amour (1999) by Mongo Beti. It will be accompanied, initially, by a historical and cultural introduction to the literary and social landscape in which both the author and the novel exist, and by a commentary on the translation, which aims to justify the translation choices made by the author of this work. In order to produce the most scientific and precise work possible, a bibliography was first compiled concerning the history of Cameroon, the country's geopolitical situation, the life of the author, and, for the commentary, translation theory. Then, using various specific linguistic resources, both online and in print, the translation of the excerpt was carried out. In conclusion, after analyzing and explaining the surrounding context, this thesis aims to offer a new translation proposal for the work of a great writer, unfortunately little known to the general public, that can convey the same power as the original text. This choice is driven by the author's strong belief in the practice of translation, fully aware of the responsibility and immense importance of contributing to making a work accessible to an even wider audience.

Abstract
This choice is driven by the author's strong belief in the practice of translation, fully aware of the responsibility and immense importance of contributing to making a work accessible to an even wider audience.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
