The success of every organization is directly proportion to the performance of its employee, it is very essential to have committed, innovative, and creative employees leading to achieving goals and objectives of the organization. Aim: This study seeks to contribute to the literature inadequacy in the field of motivation and performance in public sectors by examining the influence of intrinsic and or extrinsic motivation on the performance of workers towards public service delivery through highlighting employee’s perception, what factors of motivation are of importance to them and its implication on their delivery mode. For the study to achieve the purpose of filling the existing research gap, an online google survey was conducted in which the questionnaires were divided into four sections, the survey was guided by both open and closed ended questions and was structured according to the research question. A quantitative method was used to gather data for this study and to guarantee representation from various public service sectors and organizational levels, a stratified random sample technique was used. The results of this study indicated that employees in the public sectors prefer intrinsic to extrinsic motivation, which brought us to the conclusion that intrinsic is the motivational factor that influence employee’s performance towards public service delivery. The findings also conclude that intrinsic motivation is very important in improving employee performance in public service delivery. Finally, since no previous studies have examined employee’s perspective of this topic with the aim of gaining a thorough understanding of the subject, majority of this study's theoretical contributions were focused on the quantitative and employee’s components it adds.
