The purpose of this paper is to address film crowdfunding both as a financial tool and for its other potentials. To do so it discusses the economic specificities that distinguish the film market and the film product from other goods. Of the same it goes on to briefly analyze the sources of financing and then arrives at crowdfunding, which is also briefly described. Next in the area of film crowdfunding, all the advantages of the medium are shown. In fact, crowdfunding is analyzed as a tool for democratization, disintermediation and co-creation of value, community building, and as a communication and promotion tool. Finally, the paper concludes with the analysis of an emblematic case that illustrates these benefits, opening a reflection on the critical issues and future prospects of film crowdfunding.
Il presente elaborato ha lo scopo di trattare il crowdfunding cinematografico sia come strumento finanziario che per le sue altre potenzialità. Per farlo tratta le specificità economiche che contraddistinguono il mercato cinematografico e il prodotto filmico dagli altri beni. Dello stesso si vanno ad analizzare in breve le fonti di finanziamento per poi arrivare al crowdfunding, che anch’esso viene in breve descritto. Successivamente in ambito di crowdfunding cinematografico vengono mostrate tutti i vantaggi del mezzo. Infatti, il crowdfunding viene analizzato come strumento di democratizzazione, di disintermediazione e co-creazione del valore, di creazione di una community e come strumento di comunicazione e promozione. Infine, l’elaborato si conclude con l’analisi di un caso emblematico che illustra tali benefici, aprendo una riflessione sulle criticità e sulle prospettive future del crowdfunding cinematografico.
