The thesis work is aimed at investigating the peculiar characteristics of the social novel. The research unfolds between two nineteenth-century English authors. The thematic research focuses on topics such as child labor and exploitation, the condition of children and the importance of a future of redemption.

Il lavoro di tesi è volto ad approfondire quali siano le caratteristiche peculiari del romanzo sociale. La ricerca si snoda tra due autori inglese dell'Ottocento. La ricerca tematica si concentra su temi quali lavoro e sfruttamento minorile, condizione dei ragazzi e importanza di un futuro di redenzione.
