Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a transformative force across various domains, including contemporary art. This study explores the intersection of machine learning, a branch of AI, and artistic practice through Pierre Huyghe’s Liminal exhibition at Punta della Dogana in Venice. Positioned within the trajectory of Huyghe’s evolving oeuvre, the analysis contextualizes the exhibition to highlight the evolution of his artistic practice and recurring themes such as unpredictability, the fluidity of boundaries, and the interplay between human and non-human agents. The research examines the artistic and technical dimensions of this groundbreaking work, integrating art historical insights with technological inquiry. In doing so, it addresses a critical gap in understanding the materiality of machine learning systems and their aesthetic implications. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on posthumanist aesthetics, offering a framework to consider the symbiotic relationship between art and intelligent systems and opening new pathways for future exploration in the field.

Abstract
This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on posthumanist aesthetics, offering a framework to consider the symbiotic relationship between art and intelligent systems and opening new pathways for future exploration in the field.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
