Fertility rate has become a clear factor of interest in Europe, drawing the attention of European and national institutions that have also implemented several policies to reverse the increasing negative trend. This thesis examines the complex interaction between fertility trends, family policies and women's labour market participation in Europe. The study analyses how different family policies implemented by institutions influence both fertility rates and women's labour market participation. We use comparative data from different European countries to understand which countries have responded best to the growing problem, what policies are common to the different countries and how the labour market has responded to this pressing challenge.

Abstract
Fertility rate has become a clear factor of interest in Europe, drawing the attention of European and national institutions that have also implemented several policies to reverse the increasing negative trend. This thesis examines the complex interaction between fertility trends, family policies and women's labour market participation in Europe. The study analyses how different family policies implemented by institutions influence both fertility rates and women's labour market participation. We use comparative data from different European countries to understand which countries have responded best to the growing problem, what policies are common to the different countries and how the labour market has responded to this pressing challenge.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
