The rise of far-right movements in governmental institutions has become a global phenomenon, marked by its increasing penetration into mainstream politics and policymaking. The aim of this dissertation is to examine the theoretical foundations and practical factors driving this trend, with a focused case study on Javier Milei's ascent to power in Argentina. It explores the socio-economic and cultural conditions that foster the popularity of far-right ideologies and the protest vote's role in mobilizing disillusioned populations. Central to this analysis is the construction of the figure of the leader, particularly in the context of the 5th Industrial Revolution, where technological and social shifts redefine how political individuals engage with the masses. Focusing on Argentina, the research delves into the economic precarity and social unrest preceding Milei's election, like the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, it will analyze Milei's radical "Chainsaw Plan". It also examines the resistance to his policies and the resulting protests. The analysis concludes with a reflection on the future trajectory of Argentina under Milei's leadership and the broader implications for far-right governance globally. This comprehensive exploration underscores the interconnected nature of global and local dynamics in the proliferation of far-right politics, offering a nuanced understanding of its causes and consequences
