La figura de la mujer durante el franquismo: estudio y análisis de dos obras maestras: Tiempo de Cerezas y El cuarto de atrás.

This thesis aims to study the political and social conditions of women under the Franco regime. Fragments of two works that are considered as masters in Spanish literature will be considered: Tiempo de cerezas by Montserrat Roig and El Cuarto de atrás by Carmen Martín Gaite. The key elements will be: first, the historical context of Spain under the dictatorship of the Caudillo, fundamental to understand the situation of the female population during this period; Secondly, the role of women in particular by researching the Women’s Section and education, the work of women and finally the importance of cities in both works. The purpose of the thesis is to have a broad knowledge of women during the 36 years of dictatorship of General Francisco Franco, which brought many changes in Spanish society of the time and many of them were forced to be home angels without having a voice or vote in their own life.

En esta tesis se propone estudiar las condiciones políticas y sociales de las mujeres bajo el régimen franquista. Se considerarán fragmentos de dos obras que en la literatura española están consideradas como maestras: Tiempo de cerezas de Montserrat Roig y El Cuarto de atrás de Carmen Martín Gaite. Los elementos claves serán: en primer lugar, el contexto histórico de España bajo la dictadura del Caudillo, fundamental para entender la situación de la población femenina durante este periodo; en segundo lugar, el papel de la mujer en particular haciendo investigaciones sobre la Sección Femenina y la educación, el trabajo de las mujeres y, por último, la importancia de las ciudades en las dos obras. El propósito que se quiere alcanzar terminada la tesis es tener un amplio conocimiento de la figura de la mujer durante los 36 años de dictadura del general Francisco Franco, el cual trajo muchos cambios en la sociedad española de la época y muchas de ellas se vieron obligadas a ser ángeles del hogar sin tener voz ni voto en su propia vida.
