The purpose of the thesis is to investigate how sustainability influences the creation of new business models in the fashion sector. The study is structured as follows. The paper begins with a brief introduction, highlighting the current status of the fashion sector and the importance of adopting new sustainable business models. In Chapter 1, the methodology used to investigate the topic is detailed, starting with a structured literature review of 31 eligible papers retrieved from the Scopus database. The main findings are, then, discussed. Chapter 2 illustrates a single case study. The company under investigation is Safilo, one of the main leaders operating in the eyewear market, aiming to embrace a sustainable business model within the fashion sector. The conclusion summarises the main implications for researchers, policymakers and practitioners, pointing out limitations of the actual research and opportunities for future research.
