The aim of this paper is to expose the In-System Programming (ISP) activity which is present in today’s Industry 4.0. The first section highlights ISP characteristics and advantages, its applications in the printed circuit boards employed in the electric vehicle sector, and the main material used to produce these boards, that is silicon. In addition, the first section ends with a discussion about the essentials of the semiconductor market in China, as well as the main players such as silicon semiconductor manufactures, EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), and OEMs (Original Electronic Manufacturing), examining also the recent chip-war issue between China and the U.S.A., outlining the general expectations and future trends of this industry in the Chinese market. Finally, the second section concludes the paper by presenting an English-Chinese terminographic repertoire related to the In-System Programming activity and the topics addressed in the previous chapters.
