Narration is considered as particularly important for human beings, since it accompanies their lives from the beginning of time. The present thesis aims to examine the importance of narration under an intercultural point of view during the foreign language learning process. In this context, language and culture are the most crucial points of interest, since their interdependence cannot be ignored when learning a language. In order to demonstrate this idea, it has been explored the legend as a genre that can be integrated into the linguistic acquisition for promoting greater cultural awareness. To achieve this, a legend has been included in the proposed acquisition unit which could be inserted in an Italian language course for tourists.
