This thesis is an account of my experience working at an intercultural center, “Centro Interculturale MoviMenti” in my hometown of Cesena, Italy. In this work, I describe briefly the history and main services that the Center provides for the local migrant population in Cesena. I then go on to elaborate on the experiences that I have had teaching Italian as a second language in two classes over the course of an academic year, offering my personal observations as well as analyzing the main problems and their possible solutions. Finally, I present a selection of the didactic materials and class activities that I have used during the course, which I think are most apt at highlighting the issues raised.

Abstract
This thesis is an account of my experience working at an intercultural center, “Centro Interculturale MoviMenti” in my hometown of Cesena, Italy. In this work, I describe briefly the history and main services that the Center provides for the local migrant population in Cesena. I then go on to elaborate on the experiences that I have had teaching Italian as a second language in two classes over the course of an academic year, offering my personal observations as well as analyzing the main problems and their possible solutions. Finally, I present a selection of the didactic materials and class activities that I have used during the course, which I think are most apt at highlighting the issues raised.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
