The relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and the financial performance of a firm has always been the center of many studies. For years scholars tried to find an answer to crucial questions: Are Corporate Social Responsibility and the financial performance of a firm correlated? And, if this relationship does exist, is it positive or detrimental for the firm? Therefore, in order to understand the nature and the characteristics of this relationship, this thesis’s aim is to conduct a review of some of the studies that played a central role in this theoretical debate.
