This study aims to investigate and characterize over 150 paper bindings made from 1500 to 1700 and preserved in the Marciana National Library. This study will use both non-invasive techniques as digital microscope and spectrophotometer and invasive ones that will require sampling as FTIR, GC-MS and XRF. With the information collected, it is expected to shed some light on the materials and techniques used in the paper bindings production process.

Abstract
This study aims to investigate and characterize over 150 paper bindings made from 1500 to 1700 and preserved in the Marciana National Library. This study will use both non-invasive techniques as digital microscope and spectrophotometer and invasive ones that will require sampling as FTIR, GC-MS and XRF. With the information collected, it is expected to shed some light on the materials and techniques used in the paper bindings production process.File in questo prodotto:
