The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the protagonist of Charlotte Brontë's tales of Glass Town and Angria and the influence of Byronism in the creation of this character. The project follows the process of evolution of this Byronic hero throughout Charlotte Brontë's juvenilia up to its final mature representation in Jane Eyre.
